In short: Canadian Casinos Online is free because some casinos pay us when a reader signs up through our links. Below is who gets paid, which links count, what is recorded and where the line is between commercial deals and our reviews.
Who gets paid
Affiliate agreements are signed by the publisher, Pearlstitch Media Group FZ-LLC (Building 9, Dubai Media City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates), and the commissions are paid to it. Depending on the programme, a casino pays a fixed amount per new depositing player, a percentage of the revenue it makes from that player, or both.
Which links are commercial
Commercial links are the play and bonus buttons in our casino lists, the operator cards on slot pages and the buttons in casino reviews. They all point to an address on this site that begins with /go/, such as /go/casinoly, and redirect to the casino from there. Links to game studios, regulators, payment providers and help services earn nothing.
What travels with a click
Every page on the site sets two cookies on our domain: mz_vid, a random visitor number (one year), and mz_src, which records how you arrived (30 days). Opening a /go/ link adds XSRF-TOKEN and mozbiz_session (20 hours) and sends the random visitor number to the casino's affiliate system as the click reference. Your name, email and payment details are never part of it. The privacy policy has the full list.
What we see afterwards
Whether a sign-up is credited to us is decided by the casino's affiliate system, under its own rules and its own tracking. We never see your account, your deposits or your play: the reports we receive show only totals, such as how many referred players registered and the commission due. Commission rates are renegotiated from time to time and partners come and go, which is why buttons can appear on, or disappear from, a review without the review itself changing.
How lists are ordered
Casinos are compared on what matters to Canadian players: whether the operator is registered in Ontario, Interac and iDebit support, the real value of the welcome offer after wagering, withdrawal speed and how support handles problems. A higher commission does not buy a higher place, a better score or a softer review.
Where the money does show
We would rather say it ourselves: casinos with an affiliate agreement are the ones that get a button, and offers from partners are re-checked more often than others. Casinos without a deal can still be reviewed when readers ask about them; their pages just have no commercial link.
If you live in Ontario
Ontario limits how regulated casinos advertise bonuses, so the bonus amounts on this site are not offers to Ontario residents. If you are in Ontario, play only at operators listed by iGaming Ontario.
A button is not a licence
A link from us says nothing about whether a casino is licensed in your province. The licence, if there is one, is the operator's; confirm it on the regulator's register.
Going direct
You can always type a casino's address into your browser instead of using our buttons. The welcome offer is the same and we receive nothing. Deleting our cookies in your browser stops any link between your visit and a later sign-up.
Spotted a conflict?
If you think a commercial relationship has coloured a review, or the casino shows different terms from ours, write to us and we will look at it.
