Canadian Casinos Online reviews slots, slot sites and bonuses for players across Canada. Reviews can tell you a lot, but they cannot predict a result or replace your own judgement. This page sets out the limits.
What our reviews are, and are not
A review is our assessment of a game or a casino at a given date. It is general information for adults, not financial, legal or tax advice and not encouragement to gamble. You decide whether to play, where, and with how much, and you carry the risk.
The house always has an edge
Real-money slots are built to keep part of every stake over time. Outcomes come from a random number generator that the game studio and the casino have tested by independent labs; nothing in a spin's history affects the next one. No pattern of bets, no time of day and no "hot" machine changes that. Our feature breakdowns are there to show what you are buying, not to suggest a way to win.
Reading RTP, hit rate and max win
We quote the return to player published by the studio. It is a theoretical figure over millions of spins, and many slots are released with several RTP settings, so a casino may run a lower one than we list. Check the figure in the game's help screen. Hit frequency tells you how often any win lands, not how big it is, and a "max win" is a cap that very few sessions come anywhere near.
Free slots and demo modes
Our free slots let you learn the rules without spending. Demo play cannot show you what a real-money session will cost, and demo versions occasionally behave differently from the paid game. Play money has no cash value.
Jackpot slots
Progressive jackpots are shared across many sites and change by the second. The amount we print is out of date the moment it is published. Winning the top prize may require a particular stake, and the chance of hitting it on any one spin is tiny.
Welcome packages, free spins and wagering
Bonuses are conditional money. A typical example: deposit C$50, receive a C$50 match with a 40x wagering requirement on the bonus, and you must place C$2,000 in bets before the bonus can be cashed out. Rules on maximum bet per spin, excluded games, expiry dates and withdrawal caps can void the bonus and its winnings. Free-spin winnings are usually paid as bonus funds with their own requirements. We summarise the main conditions; the full terms sit with the casino and change without notice.
Slot tournaments
Leaderboards, prize pools and entry rules belong to the operator or the game studio running the event. We describe tournaments as announced and cannot confirm results or prize payments.
Mobile casinos and apps
Whether a casino app is offered in your app store, and in your province, depends on the operator and the store. A mobile site that works in one province may be blocked in another.
Interac and other payment methods
Interac e-Transfer, iDebit, Instadebit, cards and e-wallets are described as each casino listed them when we checked. Banks sometimes decline gambling transactions, and fees, limits and processing times are set by the casino and the payment provider. Some payment pages on the site, such as pay by phone, describe methods that are uncommon in Canada and remain for reference.
Province by province
Ontario permits private online casinos registered with the AGCO and contracted with iGaming Ontario, and those operators may not advertise bonuses to Ontarians, so our bonus figures are not addressed to Ontario residents. Alberta has opened a regulated market supervised by the AGLC. Elsewhere the provincial lottery corporation is the regulated option. Casinos also apply their own country and province restrictions, and most forbid VPNs; breaking those rules can lead to winnings being withheld.
Logos in our footer
The logos of regulators and support organisations at the bottom of each page link to their websites for information. They do not mean that this site is licensed, approved or endorsed by any of them. Licences are held by the casinos themselves.
Checking a licence
When a review mentions a licence, it refers to the operator. Licences can be suspended or revoked after we publish, so search the regulator's public register before you deposit.
Verification and withdrawals
Expect a casino to ask for photo ID and proof of address before paying out, and sometimes for proof of the payment method. Withdrawals can be delayed until that is done. Operators may also cap stakes, cancel bonuses or close accounts under their terms; we have no say in those decisions.
Taxes
We do not advise on how gambling winnings are treated for tax. Ask an accountant or the Canada Revenue Agency about your own circumstances.
Corrections
If a review is out of date or a figure is wrong, write to [email protected] with the page link. We check it and update the page and its date.
Limits of our liability
The publisher is not responsible for gambling losses, unclaimed bonuses, frozen accounts, delayed payouts or any dispute with a casino that follows from using this site. Complaints about an account belong with the casino and, for a licensed operator, its regulator. How the site earns money is described in the affiliate disclosure and the rules for using it in the terms and conditions.
Age limits and help
You must be 19 or older in most provinces and territories, 18 or older in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec to gamble online. Signs that play is getting out of hand include raising stakes to win back losses, borrowing to play and hiding it from people close to you. Free, confidential support is available from ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600, any hour) and from your provincial helpline.
