About Medusa II Slot Game

The original Medusa game from NextGen had a classic arcade slot style to it, and version two maintains a very similar look, albeit with more gloss. It's therefore not cutting edge in terms of graphical sophistication, but it has a traditional high-end video slot look that many gamers still prefer. Indeed, Medusa herself is an evil goddess of alluring stature – despite the snakes slithering as her hair, she's ravishing enough to lure in unsuspecting slot players. NextGen has given her quite a makeover, compared to the days of ancient Greece when she was considered an ugly monster.

The slotscape features a host of mythological symbols on the reels, including Medusa, stone statues, arrows, gold rings, Medusa II wilds, snakes, letters and numbers. All in all the five-reel game has 243 ways to win, which is fairly epic even by the standards of Greek mythology. Despite Medusa's fearsome reputation and affinity for turning mortal soldiers to stone, she's the key to the game's two big bonus features, in the shape of locked reel free spins and stacked wilds. We're guessing you’ll turn to the dark side when playing this game. Medusa II serves up 95.18% return-to-gamer levels, so things remain fair even in the underworld.

Medusa II Slot Features, Specials and Symbols

Medusa II can be spun from 0.25 to 50.00, so there's plenty of scope whether you're a low-risk pleasure seeker, or a hardcore jackpot player. The base game is loaded with a large number of icons, paying from x5 to the x500 jackpot:

Symbol	3x Payout	4x Payout	5x Payout
Stone Statue	10	25	200
Arrows	10	25	200
Ring	10	25	100
Medusa Wild	20	50	500
Snake	10	25	40
Letters and Numbers	5	20	50

Turned-to-Stone Stacked Wild Feature: It wouldn't be Medusa if she didn't turn men to stone, and thankfully, she does exactly that. When this snake-haired anti-heroine appears on the reels, her deadly stare is enough to petrify soldiers into solid rock. Each gaze showers you with a stack of wilds to boost payout chances. In addition to the payouts, this element of Medusa is fun and looks good graphically.
Medusa’s Locked Reels Free Game: Medusa is only getting warmed up with the stacked wilds – her other weapon is the locked reels, triggered when you land three or more Medusa II logo symbols across the reels. This powerful feature gives you 10 free spins, with each spin a locked reel play. In essence, this means two to five reels are fused together and spin as one, stopping with the same icon – so some juicy payouts are likely when playing the game regularly. Free spins can be re-activated during the bonus, giving you another five goes.

Underworld Verdict: Medusa II is a worthy follow-up to NextGen's original Medusa game, providing a classic adventure slot with a huge number of potential ways to win, a meaty maximum jackpot and two nice bonus features.
